Yerim Jamie Hwang is an experienced violin teacher and performer with a passion for fostering a lifelong love of music in students of all ages. She began her violin journey at the age of 3 in South Korea and later continued her studies in the United States, earning performance degrees from Baylor University and Roosevelt University. A certified Suzuki teacher, Ms. Hwang tailors lessons to each student’s unique needs, creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Ms. Hwang has taught at institutions such as The Rivers School Conservatory and Wayland School of Music, working with students from preschoolers to adults. She excels at making learning both structured and creative, helping beginners build strong foundations while guiding intermediate and advanced students in tone production, phrasing, shifting, and vibrato. Parents praise her patience, attention to detail, and ability to make technique fun and approachable.
In addition to teaching, Ms. Hwang is an active performer and recently joined the Summit Symphony Orchestra after relocating. She is thrilled to immerse herself in New Jersey’s vibrant music scene, connect with inspiring musicians from all genres, and explore new creative opportunities.
