Kevin Maa is a passionate performer and music educator. As a cellist, he has performed throughout the United States and abroad in famous concert halls such as Lincoln Center, The Kimmel Center, Carnegie Hall, and Congress Graz Stefaniensaal in Graz, Austria. As an instructor, Mr. Maa has helped students strengthen posture and technique, prepare for auditions for local and regional orchestras, and gain confidence performing.
Mr. Maa holds a bachelor’s degree in Cello Performance from Montclair State University, where he won their Concerto Competition, and a master’s degree in Cello Performance from Mannes School of Music at the New School in Manhattan. In addition, he has taken string pedagogy classes at Rutgers under the instruction of Betsy Maliszewski and cello pedagogy with Frances Rowell at Montclair. Mr. Maa has been the recipient of numerous scholarships for academic studies.
